MCS are raising funds for Danish Children's Charity - Sport 'N' Charity, helping children with cancer back to life through physical training.

Join us on Friday 27th September 2024 on the island of Enø to take part in our charity walk - friends, family, distributors and suppliers are all invited to take part.
Unable to participate?
Please come and help out in whatever way you can, volunteers to assist with logistics on the day would be greatly appreciated.
There will be three routes to suit all abilites:
• Route A: 8.7km loop route near Karrebæksminde. It is generally considered an easy route and takes an average of 1 hr 42 minutes to complete.
• Route B: 11.7km point-to-point route near Bisserup, Region Zealand. It is generally considered a moderately challenging route and takes an average of 2hrs 30 minutes to complete.
• Route C: 32.1km This is a combination of the above routes with participants carrying out a return journey of Route B.
Participant Costs and General Information:
Participants of the event will be provided with an event branded T-Shirt, sandwich and soft drink.
We request that a donation of 150kr is made per person carrying out the walk - this will help to cover the above items.
Please note: Persons attending from outside of Denmark will need to cover the cost of the trip.

About the Charity:
Sport ‘n’ Charity is an approved association that helps children with cancer back to life through physical training. Sport ‘n’ Charity’s efforts have already produced great results.
Every year more than 600 Danish children are treated for cancer. Fortunately 6 out of 7 children survive. Unfortunately, more than 50% of surviving children develop late effects and disabilities.

Hvorfor Sport 'n' Charity?
Forestil dig et barn, der kæmper sig igennem en hård kræftbehandling. En kamp, som barnet måske endda har vundet. Men når behandlingen er slut, står barnet overfor en anden kamp, en kamp med følgesygdomme og handicap, der kan påvirke deres liv i årevis.
Det er her, vi kommer ind i billedet.
På baggrund af forskning har vi sammen med vores fysioterapeut og flere træningsspecialister udviklet et fysisk træningsprogram, en online træningsportal samt sammensat en træningstaske med udstyr til hvert enkelt barn.
På den måde kan de træne, uanset hvor de befinder sig, både hjemme eller under indlæggelse. En løsning, der giver de kræftramte børn de bedste forudsætninger for, at komme tilbage til et liv med mindsket risiko for følgesygdomme og handicap.
